The Bombing of Pearl Harbor

The Bombing of Pearl Harbor

The Pearl Harbor attack was the largest naval battle in history and is often considered one of the most significant events in world history. It was also known as "The Day of Infamy." On December 7, 1941, Japanese forces attacked the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor with over 250 aircraft carriers, battleships and destroyers.Remember Pearl Harbor Attack

The Pearl Harbor naval base is located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.

Pearl Harbor is a natural harbor in the Pacific Ocean, located on Oahu, Hawaii. It is one of the major seaports of Hawaii and serves as headquarters for the United States Pacific Fleet. The base was built by workers from companies such as Ford, General Electric and Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

The site has been used for commercial fishing since its creation in 1842; it's also home to many historic structures such as Fort Kamehameha I (1843–1848), Fort Paul Jones (1849–1852) and an early republican fortification known as Fort Kamehameha II built during the American Civil War era between 1861–1865 - although these have been replaced by newer buildings over time since then!

The naval base at Pearl Harbor is considered the most important Pacific base in the U.S. Navy.

Pearl Harbor was a major naval base for the United States Navy. It was damaged in the attack, but not destroyed. This led to the U.S. entering WWII and eventually winning it.[1]

The plan was to take out battleships, cruisers and destroyers, which were larger and moored in battleship row at Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese wanted to take out the US Pacific fleet.

World War II - Attack on Pear Harbor

At 7:55 a.m., 353 Japanese fighter planes, bombers, and torpedo planes descended on Pearl Harbor, with 2,000-pound bombs strapped to their wings.

The attack was carried out by Japan—a surprise to the U.S., which had been unaware of any hostile intentions toward its military installations or ships in Hawaiian waters until then.

The first wave of planes hit Hickam Field where there was a large number of military aircraft; they destroyed some 20 airplanes on the ground as well as several hangars containing aircraft fuel tanks that exploded in flames after being hit by bombs dropped from above

The Japanese lost 29 planes in all; 5 midget submarines were also lost.

The Japanese lost 29 planes in all: 5 midget submarines were also lost. The Japanese lost more planes than the US, but it's important to remember that they had a much larger fleet than we did at Pearl Harbor. Furthermore, there were only 767 people on board those aircraft carriers; if you compare this number with our total population at the time (around 132 million), then we can say that each person is roughly equivalent to one plane!

In conclusion...

2,403 people died that day from both the armed forces and civilians.

Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan, but America fought back in a big way. The bombing of Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack on December 7th 1941 and it caught the U.S. military off guard. It also had an effect on American morale as people felt like they were being attacked again by another country which had been conquered before (like Germany). The Japanese wanted to weaken the U.S. military in the Pacific and force it to negotiate for peace; however, this did not happen because President Roosevelt declared war against Japan after they sunk our ships that day!

This caused the United States to enter WWII against Japan as well as Germany and Italy who were allied with Japan

The attack on Pearl Harbor caused a domino effect that led to America entering WWII against Japan, Germany and Italy. The Japanese attack was an unexpected surprise for the United States when it happened in 1941. However, it did not take long after the bombing occurred before America decided they had no choice but to enter into World War II on behalf of Great Britain against Germany and Italy who were allied with Japan.

Pearl Harbor was a military base located in Hawaii near Honolulu Harbor. It was used by the U.S Navy because it had easy access to the Pacific Ocean from its location on Oahu island. The base had several large ships docked there including battleships such as those built during WWI that were now obsolete due to newer technology being introduced into warfare after WWII began
